Considerations for Online Training
If you find learning difficult then you may benefit from some online training or CBT. The good thing about this type of training course is that you can study at your own pace. There may be a deadline to complete coursework or an exam date, but you can spend as long as you like on certain sections of the course which means that you can go over and over parts which you need more help in and skip over those that you are familiar with. Normally courses are taught by a tutor and you have to learn at the pace that they dictate. This is okay for the average person but some people are very fast learners and find the pace too slow and therefore may switch off and miss the important bits of the course. Slower learners may find that parts go to fast for them and that they cannot retain very much information because of this.
It is a good idea to think about whether you find learning hard and whether it could be to do with the pace of things. It may be worth trying an elearning course to find out whether it suits you. Many people find that they are much better than other types of training. Some people have concerns about the lack of a tutor meaning that they have no one to ask questions to, but often they find that the course is so well put together that they do not have any questions. They also find that being able to study when they want, as much as they want and as often as they want makes up for the lack of a tutor.
Imagine how good it would be if you could study sitting in bed, at the dinner table, in your lunch break at work or in your pyjamas at the weekends. It is much more flexible and can make it more fun. You can study with others, perhaps if you have work colleagues who are also doing the course or you can study alone. It is a really flexible way to learn.
So do not discount online study as a method which will not suit you. Try it out and see whether you like it. Just because you have heard negative things about it, does not mean that it is not ideal for you. Have a good think and decide whether it would be worth you trying a course of this type.
