It’s a crunch time for graduating seniors entering the workforce. It’s a tough time for graduates to find a fitful job nowadays.
The tough economy has worsened some students concerning for their career plans. Someone said that “It’s scary for the simple fact you don’t know how many openings a place may have or if you’re going to be everything that that company needs”.
The employment rate for graduates last year was less than 70% and the rising number seeking jobs is challenging the Chinese government at a time when the current economic crisis will surely exacerbate the problem. This issue is much wore this year. Employment in China has plummeted. Fewer positions are available for graduates and graduate employment will be limited in this year and for the next few years. Although many companies cannot find qualified employees working in specific technical fields, many Chinese graduates have majored in accounting, Chinese language and literature, law and computer science, whereas jobs in these fields are limited. It is likely close to 2 million graduates will be hideously unemployment- many of whom are postgraduates, even doctoral graduates.
Several factors are responsible for the dire situation facing graduates and the massive expansion of enrolments since 1999 is one issue. In 1999, the government stimulated domestic demand by increasing higher education enrolments to answer negative influence by the Asian financial crisis that began in 1997. Now the graduates with great amount of education investment become the poor victim of the increasing education enrolments.
The modernization of China’s economy and the opening of its markets have brought wealth, but at the cost of unemployment for many. Because of the rat race in such a society with stagnant economic, some students only with senior middle school diploma have to be a young work in factories in order to be one of the technically skilled workers. They think that they’d better earn money early than to be a would-be unemployment man with high diploma or experienced major skills. People take their jobs more seriously and are very loyal to their employers in such a competitive society with strong impact by this financial crisis.
Fewer positions are available for graduates and graduate employment will be limited in this year and for the next few years. What it will going on about the job issue of Chinese graduates?
Unemployed workers seem to be staying with friends in local apartments. Unemployed graduates find jobs such as workers in factories and salesmen, or they even polish shoes for others like so illiterate one. “I just want a job — no demands on salary” What a helpless claim! A report said that a girl in job fair kneel to one of the recruiter in Guangdong. Graduates choose suicide as their ending for life is not a new news now. What a cruel fact for our graduates!
Measures such as expanding postgraduate enrolments cannot solve the problem of graduate unemployment as it can only offer some relief or postpone the current employment pressure. Indeed, in recent years, employment of master degree graduates has become problematic. How it will go on if unemployed graduates become graduate student three years later?

Web design courses teach how to design and develop websites. For many the thought of designing a website is an intimidating one. However, various web design courses available today teach the basics of website designing in a very simple and easy to follow manner.

Types Of Courses

Certain courses are designed for aspiring web design professionals. These are individuals who have an eye for art and layout and wish to make a career out of designing websites.

Other simple courses target the average individual who just wants to make a website for personal interest.

What Do Web Design Courses Teach?

In both type of courses the basics of HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) and web design are taught. It is important that your website looks attractive and a visitor is encouraged to follow links and click on other pages of your site. This is very essential if you wish to attract advertisements to your website and also if you are trying to sell a product through your site.

A website design course will teach you how to do all of this. Some of the main subjects which feature on the curriculum include:

- Organization and planning the layout of the website. Cluttered sites full of information in hard to read font and font size put off the reader.
- Planning color schemes, use of frames and graphics. It will provide information on the advantages and disadvantages of using background colors, the pros and cons of graphics, the use of moving objects such as banners, etc.
- Basics of publishing on the internet
- Basics of computer graphics and design
- Effective navigation
- Issues relating to web security and administration
- Training on how to create links between documents
- Information on how to create tables and forms
- Training on site management
- Training in specific web design technologies and software
- Training in action scripting software
- Training on how to increase speed of your site
- Information on how to assist visitors with completing tasks such as filling up forms on the website

Where Can You Find A Web Design Course?

Given that these courses teach individuals how to design websites, the obvious answer to this question is “online”. All web design courses are by no means similar. While you search for an appropriate course which will meet your needs, you will notice that the website will prompt you for details. You will be asked about the level of a course you want to undertake such as a certificate or a degree course.

How Do These Online Courses Work?

Once you sign up for a course, your progress through the program is similar to any other online learning program. You will have tutorials, class assignments and interactive sessions with your tutors. You will receive feedback and will need to complete projects and finally appear for the certificate examination.

A good web design course can open up a number of exciting and challenging career opportunities for you.

The Pharmaceutical industry is growing in leaps and bounds. Most people can say that they’ve viewed a commercial about a new drug that’s been developed or spent time talking with a pharmacy tech at their local drug store. With earnings averaging in the mid to high $100K annual range, and an above average growth rate expected for careers, there are many opportunities to work in this field if this interests you. Here’s how you can find the right education path you need to obtain pharmacist jobs.

A pharmacist job generally requires a good deal of education, starting with a Bachelor’s degree in Science from an accredited college or university. In 1992, a majority of the nation’s schools voted to create a Doctorate program in pharmaceutical studies, so that is generally the standard that professional pharmacists adhere to in their educational pursuits. So, on average, Pharmacists must get the same number of years of education as a Physician or Lawyer before they can take a state board exam and become a professional working pharmacist. That’s a total of six years of post-secondary education.

In general, the education that pharmacists must have consists of studies in Pharmacology (the study of drugs), Chemistry, Clinical Care and Administration. In addition, pharmacists must have a solid background in mathematics and general biological science. Excellent writing and communications skills are vital to success in pharmacy as are knowledge of literature, history, government and social studies. Pharmacy is unique in that it combines the people aspect of care to the field of science, so being able to manage people and their needs is an important skill for any pharmacist to have.

In addition to the regular college classes they take, many pharmacists choose to work in either a pharmacy technician program as part of their learning process. There are multiple opportunities for pharmacy students to get all or part of their educational expenses paid for while they are in school if they become employed by a major pharmaceutical company or retailer. There is a big need for skilled pharmacists so companies are often ready to help with the costs of education to recruit them after graduation.

Once all college or university courses have been completed, the next step in the process is to take a state licensing exam. This is similar to a doctor or legal professional taking their state board exams. At the successful completion of the testing process, the pharmacy student or technician may begin working as a professional pharmacist. Each year, pharmacists are required to retrain or get additional coursework to keep their licenses and knowledge base up to date.

Becoming a pharmacist is a rewarding career choice for individuals who enjoy helping others manage their medical care via drugs and medicine treatments. This allows them to work with patient care, but stay out of the clinical setting. By following the above tips, you can be well on your way to getting an education in pharmacy too.

For people who are looking forward to a journalism career, there are so many things that they can do to move an inch higher to their dream. For young people who were already to determine in themselves that a journalism career is really the profession that they would want to pursue, they can start gaining all they need to be qualified for the job.

Young ones should be arming themselves with the necessary skills in becoming a journalist such as writing. To do this, they should practice writing articles more often and monitor their improvement. To be more knowledgeable about the craft, they should also enroll in various writing workshops where the resource speakers are the ones who have been in the industry long enough to share their first-hand experiences. Aside from meeting famous writers and journalists, attending writing workshops can also help you improve your craft and will introduce you more into the technicalities of writing such as styles, structures and the like.

To widen your vocabulary, it is also a must that you read the newspaper regularly. Aside from current events and news, reading feature articles in magazines and even novels can help you be familiar with certain writing styles that can help you in creating your own in the future.

When you get to college, it is best to take up a journalism degree in a reputable school. Although this may seem minor, it would matter when credentials would be asked when you apply to a certain publication. Even if you think that you have the best writing skills in town, some employers are looking at track record to determine if you are really fit for the job.

While in journalism in school, you will be trained in all aspects of the field. Aside from training your writing skills, the school will open you up to other possibilities of the field such as the business side and other fields that may help you decide which field you are really suited to. Here, you will also have the opportunity to meet the “masters” in the field and you will also be able to use the school publication as the training ground for your future journalism career.

Getting the break

Some people are lucky enough to have a journalism career while still in school. These are rare cases and if you did not have that chance, you don’t have to feel bad about it. Probably, it is not yet your time. Instead of sulking into depression for not getting the position who have been aspiring for, it is best to create your own opportunity by learning how to market one’s self, coming up with a strong portfolio, and know when is the best time to break into the field.

1. Selling one’s self. This is a very important aspect because employers and editors would not believe you if you just say that you are good. During an interview for a position, try to mention some of your good qualities that can be assets to the company such as resourcefulness, creativity, and productivity.

2. Be willing to start small. If you are a fresh graduate, don’t expect that you will get the position you want right away. Since the journalism field is competitive, it is best if you will have mindset of starting small. Those who are enjoying their journalism career nowadays are the ones who underwent through the ladder of success.

After completing their university degree, most engineering graduates tend to go into one of two lines of work:

1. Engineering Design – I’ve been told approximately 10% of engineers end up in this area. I find this a little bit surprising because there is a group of us from university that “hang out” together regularly and out of us 80% are working for a design consultancy.

2. Project Management – At university we were told 90% of engineers end up working in the field. Apart from approximately half a year in the office, I’ve spent about 5 years working on site as a construction engineer or “project engineer” as opposed to a structural/civil or “design engineer”.

I’ve noticed that regardless of one’s discipline, those that work in design seem to refer to their discipline in their title and on their business cards (e.g. “Civil Engineer”) while those that work in the field are just Project Engineers.

Design Engineer Career Path

The way I see it – if you’re a designer you tend to spend pretty much all your time in the office, calculating, designing, drawing etc. As time goes on you move up the ladder to managing other designers. There is the risk of not having a good feel for constructability. When you get bogged down in the detailed design you sometimes lose sight of the bigger picture or design a structure such that it is difficult and/or expensive to build.

But design can be fun. I did a little bit of design as a graduate and really enjoyed being “smart” about it – writing spreadsheets that do quick calculations for me such that I can design a bridge very quickly. I had no idea about construction and I struggled with the lack of knowledge at the time – it is just something that has to come with experience.

Project Engineer Career Path

I worked mainly in the field on projects involving the construction of roads and reservoirs. As a project engineer I was exposed to a massive range of experience. I personally enjoyed it a lot more than design work. It was more challenging. I was exposed to managing people, safety, quality, technical queries (liasing with designers), commercial, procurement and basically interfacing with every other area found in an engineering construction company.

As I move up the “food chain” in my company, I feel like I can jump into any area of management I choose and excel at it. I can step into a Project Management role or a Commercial Manager role for example. I feel like I have a more diverse range of skills. On the flip side, working away from home for an extended period of time can get tiring and if you have a family, working closer to home would probably start looking more attractive.

To find out more about project engineering, have a read of this insightful article: “A Day In The Life of a Project Engineer“.

The field of criminal justice is no longer a male-dominated industry. In fact, it is now a booming and nearly recession-proof field that is constantly seeking highly-trained individuals of both gender. The following are descriptions of the many rewarding career options the field of criminal justice has to offer for women.

Law Enforcement:

Opportunities for women exist in law enforcement at local, county, state and federal levels. Whether you want to work patrol, corrections, security or become specialized in some area, law enforcement may be the place for you. State positions are available in the area of highway patrol or the division of criminal intelligence. Federal positions for law enforcement vary within each agency. Such positions are available in the Federal Bureau of Investigations; Border Patrol; Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearm; Secret Service and Homeland Security.

Civilian Support:

Every agency of criminal justice uses civilian support personnel and many of these positions are held by women. Report takers, dispatchers, records specialists, computer information support personnel and radio technicians are the predominate positions held by civilian support.

Court Positions:

Lawyers, victim advocates, domestic violence advocates, paralegals, court reporters and support staff positions are other viable options for women in criminal justice. There are investigative positions for both prosecutors and defense attorneys as well. These positions generally require some prior investigative experience.

Corrections

The field of corrections offers many advantages to women as well. Female correctional officers are needed in any institution that houses females. These can also range from adult to juvenile facilities and maximum to minimum security facilities.

Civilian Positions:

Private security grows each day as more and more agencies are filling in where law enforcement can no longer reach. Large corporations and hospitals often have security/loss prevention positions that offer better hours and advancement opportunities than law enforcement.

Forensic Science

Criminalistics is a field within criminal justice that will continue to grow as technology grows. This field involves advanced crime scene investigating. Arson, handwriting, ballistics, DNA, drug screening and fibers are only a few of the many areas of specialties within the forensic science fields.

When looking at a career in the criminal justice field, women are only as limited as their thinking. Find your passion and follow it, as gender should never stop you from any career you choose.

The Demand

The demand for preschool, kindergarten, elementary, middle and secondary school teachers is projected to grow at an average pace. While the demand for teachers who specialize in math, science and bilingual education is expected to sore.

The Statistics

Employment of school teachers is expected to grow by 12 percent between 2006 and 2016, approximately the average projected growth for all occupations. This growth will create 479,000 new teaching positions.

Through 2016, fast-growing states such as Nevada, Arizona, Texas and Georgia will experience the largest enrollment increases. Enrollment in the Midwest is expected to hold relatively steady, while enrollment the Northeast is expected to decline.

Teachers who are geographically mobile and who obtain licenses in more than one subject should have a distinct advantage in finding a job.

The number of teachers employed is dependent on expenditures for education and on the enactment of legislation to increase the quality and scope of public education. At the federal level, there has been a large increase in funding for education, particularly for the hiring of qualified teachers in lower income areas.

Also, some states are instituting programs to improve early childhood education, such as offering full day kindergarten and universal preschool. These programs, along with projected higher enrollment growth for preschool age children, will create many new jobs for preschool teachers.

Job Prospects

Job opportunities for teachers over the next 10 years will vary from good to excellent, depending on the locality, grade level and subject taught. Most job openings will result from the need to replace the large number of teachers who are expected to retire from 2006 to 2016.

There are some industries where success has little to do with the state of the economy: Medical sales jobs and healthcare sales jobs are definitely among them.

1. The industry

The UK healthcare industry as a whole is worth billions of pounds and employs around 2 million people.

The National Health Service (NHS) is the largest employer, with a workforce of 1.3 million. A further 21% work in the private sector, 1.9% in the voluntary sector and the remainder in local authorities and other organisations.

The pharmaceutical industry employs around 70,000 people. It develops and produces drugs, equipment and products, and is a major provider of medical rep jobs and healthcare sales jobs.

Medical rep jobs play a crucial role in the industry, closing the gap between pharmaceutical companies and healthcare professionals. They ensure clients are aware of, buy and use their company’s pharmaceutical and medical products – whether in general practices, primary care trusts or hospitals.

In terms of jobs in medical sales, the top five leading international pharmaceutical companies in 2007 were Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline, Sanofi-Aventis, AstraZeneca and Novartis (Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry).

2. The current climate

While more people are now seeking new work, there is a string of industries where success has little to do with the state of the economy. Drugs companies in particular are where investors pile their money to wait out a recession.

Why? Because people need dentists, doctors and other healthcare professionals regardless of the state of the economy – just as they need the right drugs and equipment to make people better. Because when things go wrong they have to be fixed; it’s not discretionary spending. Medical sales jobs and healthcare sales jobs are an integral and invaluable part of this process.

What’s more, skill shortages in the public services sector will always fuel demand for high-calibre professionals – particularly in the drive to find new, more effective drugs to fight disease and in caring for an older population.

3. What medical sales jobs are out there?

The healthcare jobs market is awash with a wide variety of titles and terminology. Some of the most common are healthcare sales jobs, medical sales jobs, medical rep jobs, medical equipment sales, wound care sales jobs, laboratory sales jobs and theatre sales jobs.

While medical rep jobs mostly involve promoting prescription products, successful candidates could find themselves selling anything – from wound care products, surgical tools, implants or large medical devices into large NHS trusts, private hospitals, dentists or even veterinary surgeons.

Opportunities may also occur in related medical sales jobs fields, such as medical disposables and equipment. Additionally, some experienced healthcare sales jobs lead on to working as field trainers – training and developing juniors in healthcare jobs.

Since at least one-third of the pharmaceuticals produced in the UK are exported, there are also international medical sales jobs opportunities.

4. What do recruiters look for?

There are many jobs in medical sales to be found, across a very wide range of specialist areas and geographical locations. Competition for jobs in medical sales can be high, particularly with company mergers and the tightening of finances within the NHS. However, there are lots of ways to stand out from the crowd. Certain attributes that employers look for include:

Individuals who can successfully work as part of a team (medical sales jobs will often involve sharing territory)

Graduates or trainees, or individuals with nursing, marketing or ethical sales experience

Candidates with a science degree (approximately 50% of the 9,000 medical sales reps in the UK have one; the other 50% are mainly graduates from other academic disciplines)

Experience in selling to the medical market, or a medical background

At SalesTarget.co.uk, there are a huge range of healthcare jobs and medical sales jobs for you to explore, spanning all skills and sectors.

There is no doubt that LinkedIn is widely used in the business community as a type of “online resume.” Anyone that has conducted a successful LinkedIn job search can tell you, it’s so much more than that. It’s a powerful tool to reach out to your industry in a new and credible way. Follow these steps and you’ll be one step closer to making strong connections to employers and industry recruiters on LinkedIn.

Step 1
Complete Your Profile
Your profile is like your online resume, only better, because people can endorse your work right on your profile. If you haven’t fully completed your profile, you aren’t giving anyone enough information to determine if you are a person they would want to share networks with. You are asking for people to open their rolodex to you, so to speak. You must have a complete profile that shows them you are worthy networking partner.

Profile description with personality – this is the place where you need to sell yourself. Think “cover letter meets 30 second elevator pitch.”

List all positions – Listing all your past positions allows the system to find more people who you may already know or who have a workplace or school in common. LinkedIn suggests people to network with based on information in your profile.

Education – For the same reason, list all the schools you attended. It may seem silly to list your high school in a resume, but LinkedIn is different. Since it uses this information to help bring people together, it’s important to include everything. You never know where your fellow classmates ended up that may help your career.

Recommendations – Endorsements are always important. LinkedIn is no exception. Ask people from each sector of your worklife to endorse the work you did when they knew you. Make sure you get clients, bosses, employees, vendors, etc.

Link to Website – You can provide up to 3 websites that relate to your work, either an online resume or your website if you have one, or one that you worked on.

SEO your profile – Always think “keywords, keywords, keywords” in everything you do online. Make sure you that are using the same words when you write your profile that someone would use to search for someone like you.

LinkedIn Applications - Utilize the applications that are relevant, integrating blogs, presentations, etc.

Step 2
Reach Out – Build Your Network
When you make a first level connection with someone, it means you know them directly. When you connect with someone, you gain a broader reach than just that person because all of the people that they know are now part of your network as 2nd level connections. Similarly, all of the second level’s connections now become your third level connections. What all this means is that you can exponentially grow your network by making smart connections to people you already know or strategic people in your industry.

Building your network is helpful if you want to ask an industry question to your connections. Your entire network is posed the question, so the more people you are connected to the more brains you are reaching. When you get ready to search jobs, the broader your network is, the greater your access to jobs posted by your network.

Connect to people you already know – Import your address book to see who you know that is already on LinkedIn. Reach out to colleagues, friends, classmates, vendors, etc.

Strategic new connections – See who your connections know. Do you also know them? Should you know them? If so, invite them to connect with a personal message of why it would be beneficial for them to share networks with you.

Step 3
Build Credibility
http://www.linkedin.com/answers

LinkedIn’s Answers section is a great way to build your industry credibility in your online community. If you have strategically connected with people in your industry, they will see your posed questions, or see that you have answered questions and come to realize that you are someone who has something meaningful to contribute. This can help you in a job search, or for general industry networking.

Step 4
Research
Once your profile has been built and you have begun your quest for online industry credibility, you are ready to start searching for positions posted by people in your network.

Search Jobs
http://www.linkedin.com/jobs
LinkedIn Jobs has openings posted by people in your network. You can search LinkedIn only or you can search throughout the web for any jobs posted online that fit your search criteria.

JobsInsider tool
This LinkedIn tool allows you to see who you know at any company who has listed open jobs, request an introduction to the hiring manager and see open job postings at Monster, CareerBuilder, HotJobs, Craigslist, SimplyHired, Dice, or Vault. The link to download the tool is located at the bottom of each LinkedIn page:
http://www.linkedin.com/static?key=jobsinsider_download&trk=hb_ft_jobsins

Companies Section
This section of LinkedIn contains information about various companies whose employees are on LinkedIn. It will show you who is in your network at that company, who has recently been hired or promoted there and will list their open positions. It also shows you where people who work there used to work, and where they went after they worked there. Knowing what’s up at a company is important for networking your way in.

Step 5
Request Introductions
When you are ready, you can request an introduction to someone in a company that either has an opening, or one that you wish you target. Professionally request the introduction, letting them know why it would benefit the receiver to know you, so the referrer feels confident in making the introduction. Make sure you have something to contribute. If it’s all about you, there is a chance your request will be ignored. Once the introduction has been made, be sure to thank the referrer. Make contact with the person and show them why connecting with you is a great career move for you both.

Get Started!
Now you are well on your way to a successful job search via LinkedIn. Be sure to commit time and effort to growing and maintaining your network. Help put others in touch so they will help you in return. Networking has always been a strong career development practice. It hasn’t changed, we just have more tools available to help make it easier. But just because it’s easier, doesn’t make it any less important. Now get out there and network!

Day-by-day, humans are becoming more and more dependent on electricity. New technological innovations bring more and more electrical appliances. It will not be wrong to say that humans will go back to their Stone Age, without electricity. In such a situation an electrician can have a lucrative career as an electrician. But for that, one must complete a proper electrical course. Most of the countries are currently facing a shortage of qualified electrician. So the demand for an electrical course is growing fast.

Before joining any electrical course, one has to take an overview of the prerequisites of becoming a good electrician. An electrical course is a technical course and in many situations involves arithmetical calculations. So an aspirant electrician must have good mathematical calculations. An electrician must have a good vision. This is very important as electrician has to work with different colors of wires.

An eye checkup done before joining an electrical course is better, if you have any eye site problems. Work of an electrician includes a lot of physical work like climbing walls, high polls, and roofs. An aspirant electrician must see that he/she doesn’t have any major health problems. Some serious health problem like high blood pressure or neurological disorders can make work of an electrician more dangerous. Electricians are a very important part of our society. Work of an electrician comes with a big social responsibility. An electrical course teaches all the safety methods and techniques to be practiced while doing the job. An electrician has to keep all those things in mind while doing their job. A faulty work done by them may even cause public casualty.

There are several methods to start an electrical course. Although a high educational degree is not a prerequisite to start an electrical course, good mathematical skills are necessary. There are quite a few institutes which offer online electrical courses. An online electrical course will not appropriate for someone who wants to take up this profession full time. It is ideal for people doing just for the sake of knowledge or personal use. All those who are working somewhere else, and don’t have the time to join a class room course can also enroll for an online electrical course.

But if you are looking at this profession as a serious career option, then you need to join a full time dedicated electrical course. There are many institutes and colleges offering electrical courses. Before enrolling for an electrical course, the reputation and affiliation of that college must be taken into consideration. While enrolling for an electrical course, you need to choose you field of specialization. Specialization in one of the areas is important, because many companies hire only electricians specializing in particular area. Some people start their career with just an apprenticeship under a senior electrician.

After completion of electrical course, an electrician has many job opportunities. Electrician are recruited by big companies at construction sites, factories, hospitals, airports, malls, government offices, and many such public or commercial places.

Till some time back, creativity could not really help a person draw a monthly salary but these days scenario is completely different. Now one can easily give a vent to his / her creativity and take home a handsome pay packet. The booming animation market has opened newer avenues for all those who have a thing for painting and drawing.

The art of animation, a creative field which was earlier dominated by the West, has now India running as one of the most serious competitors. While cartoons are illustrations of a single diagram with varied meanings and expressions, animation is a rapid display of 2-D or 3-D images to create an illusion of motion.

In India, there are several career institutes offering Animation and Cartoon Courses. These career courses involve exhaustive career training for the job requirements in the field of animation and cartoons.

Cartoon Courses and Animation Institutes in India:

There are various colleges in India that offer specialized courses in animation and cartoons. These institutes help those who have a creative bent of mind and want to to earn a living from that. Some of the colleges are:

National Institute of Design (NID, Ahmedabad)

J.J School of Arts

Zee Institute of Creative Arts (ZICA)

Industrial Design Center (IDC), IIT – Mumbai & Guwahati

Academy of Animation and Gaming

Admec Multimedia Institute, Delhi

Arena Animation, Delhi

Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi

Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics, Mumbai

Aptech Computer Education, Mumbai

Zee Institute of Media Arts, Mumbai

Asian Institute of Gaming and Animation, Bangalore

Ants Animation Training School, Bangalore

Image Institute of Digital Technology, Bangalore

SAE Technology College, Chennai

Pivot Animation, Chennai

Artlab College, Chennai

Raymax Multimedia, Chennai

Brainware Computer Academy, Kolkata,

Digital Asia School of Animation, Kolkata

Animaster – The Animation Varsity, Kolkata

Micro Pro Institute, Kolkata

Sumeru Academy of Digital Arts, Pune

Indian Academy of Digital Arts, Pune

Tilak Maharashtra University, Pune

Image College of Arts, Animation & Technology, Hyderabad

Picasso Animation College, Hyderabad

Palette School of Multimedia, Hyderabad

For those who are looking for graduation courses in animation and cartoons, there are many colleges offering both diploma and degree courses. But for those looking for post graduate courses, options are very rare. Among the colleges that have been mentioned above, the Industrial Design Centers in Mumbai and Guwahati offer post-graduate degree courses.

Basic qualification required: All those who want to pursue a cartoon and animation course, there is a basic minimum qualification required. Like for applying for a diploma course in animation, one should have passed the 12th standard examination from any recognized board with a minimum of 45% marks. For those who are looking for a bachelor’s degree program, the same eligibility criterion is relevant, while for the PG program, one must have a bachelor’s degree from any university or institute.

Benefits of these courses: As one can see that the animation & multimedia industry is growing rapidly, pursuing a course in these fields can definitely push your career. Moreover, if you have a flair for drawing or creating characters, a course in this field would help satisfy your creative spirits.

Prospects of these courses in India:

Of late, animation in India has witnessed a remarkable boom with Indian animations catering to the needs of several private and public sectors and indigenously produced animated films all over the world.

There are various T.V programs, advertisements / commercials and computer games that demand a huge quantity of manpower from the Indian market. Besides that, animation is used for creating special effects in films or in web entertainment programs. Thus, the scope for aspiring students of animation is vast in the context of the rising Indian animation market.

Scope of animation students in foreign countries: Though cartoons and animations don’t really seem to be products meant for outsourcing, yet Indian cartoonists and animators have begun working for foreign companies. Undoubtedly, Indian companies are moving ahead of their South East Asian counterparts in this field. The western countries are also favoring India over any other country as far as animation is concerned because of the following reasons:

    * Good command over English speaking skills

    * Cost to company (CTC) advantage

If you have been searching for a way to make money from home, you know that real online work is sometimes not easy to find. With so many scams, it’s hard to know what is legitimate and what isn’t. I will tell you about a few options that will help you make some good money from your home.

Choosing how you want to make money depends on what you consider real online work. Many people enjoy making money with online surveys, which can really add to the monthly income. Some who do surveys for a couple of hours per day make a very good living using this method!

Finding legitimate data entry or typing positions is another story. There are so many people looking for these types of jobs that it sometimes isn’t easy to find them. Most companies that have real online work available in this area have a waiting list of people wanting to work for them. If you apply for this kind of job, you may be waiting for a year or more to start working.

There is a company called Legit Online Jobs that hire people to do ad placement. There are thousands of large companies that hire people to place ads for them online, and they pay extremely well. Legit Online Jobs has a listing of employers, and you choose which ones you want to place the ads for. This is an extremely popular site for those who want legitimate work in the data entry field.

If you are qualified for more specialized positions, there are some sites where you will find real online work in fields like web design, editing, medical transcriptionist, engineering and many other positions that require experience or a degree. You can find legitimate work much easier if you are trained in a certain field.

Of course, you can always find opportunities to make money from home stuffing envelopes, assembling crafts, mailing postcards and doing mystery shopping. Many people don’t believe that these are legitimate options, but many of them really are. Big companies do need people to mail out circulars and news to their massive mailing lists!

As you can see, there are many real online work opportunities available. The question is if they are something that you are interested in. For some legitimate options that have been tested and reviewed, see the links below!

ESL Teaching Jobs Lead to Overseas Adventures

I’ve always wanted to travel the world and visit exotic places, but since I’m just a couple years out of college, I really don’t have the funds to do so right now. I’m still paying off student loans and trying to save a little money for a rainy day, but it’s tough to do with the entry-level salary that I’m currently on. So when a friend of mine announced that he was going to move to China to teach English for a year, I asked him a bunch of questions about ESL teaching jobs and decided I needed to have a similar adventure.

I did some more research online about ESL teaching jobs around the world, just to make sure this was something I could get into. I was encouraged to learn that no special certification or training is necessary to teach English as a Second Language; instead, most prospective employers simply require that the applicant have a Bachelor’s degree (any major is ok), a valid passport, and is a native English speaker. Since I qualify on all those points, I began looking through listings of ESL teaching jobs in earnest.

Asian countries seem to have the most ESL teaching jobs available, with China, South Korea, Japan, and Thailand leading the way. But the demand for English teachers is also picking up in places like Spain, the Czech Republic, Russia, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and all throughout South America. It would be amazing to spend a year or more in any of those exotic destinations — all while getting paid good money to teach English for an average of 30 hours a week. Plus, I’d be able to use my weekends and other free time to explore these fabulous countries… Are ESL teaching jobs the best-kept secret out there, or what!

Of course, the prospect of packing up my whole life and moving halfway across the world is a bit scary, but my research into ESL teaching jobs showed me that most employers go out of their way to make the transition as easy as possible. For example, most positions come with a subsidized housing provision so I don’t have to worry about looking for a place to stay. In addition, the employer helps with things like setting up the Internet in my apartment, opening a local bank account, and filing the right visa paperwork for employment eligibility. And there will always be other Americans, Canadians, Aussies, and Brits to hobnob with, so I shouldn’t get too homesick!

I’ve already submitted my resume to a couple of schools offering ESL teaching jobs in China and Japan, as well as one in Peru and one in Spain and one in the UAE. I’m confident that I’ll be hired by at least one of these institutions, and will be on my way to an exciting overseas adventure very soon. I better start packing now!

If you are looking for a new career path and have experience in architecture or assembly, you may want to think about finding a new architecture design job. Architecture has certainly come a long way in design and function over recent years, and it is a field that continues to grow and expand into new areas. As with most industries and fields, technology has truly taken the reigns and opened the door to a whole new world of possibilities based on the use of computers.

CAD programs and other architectural software programs are becoming mainstream, both in education and in the workplace, when it comes to architectural and assembly jobs. There has been a lot of growth in the field and many companies are looking for skilled and qualified professionals to run these computer drafting programs. What kind of outlook does the market hold for assembly jobs and architecture jobs? Surprisingly, quite a bit! With all of the technological advances, some people tend to think that assembly jobs in particular are going to be taken over by computers or robotics, but for the most part, the majority of positions require a human to operate the computers.

In addition to the necessity for humans to operate the programs, there has also been a lot of opportunity opening up in the way of engineering and design to develop new programs and improve the existing ones that are being used.

If you are living in or moving to the south, employers in South Carolina rely on professionals in all different facets of industries to perform architecture jobs and assembly jobs. There are a lot of companies that are hiring students out of college who have completed a technology degree to fill these South Carolina jobs; even more encouraging is the fact that the demand is ongoing. Many employers are willing to train workers who have experience in other areas of drafting or assembly line positions to transform their abilities into new design and development positions.

Most of these new jobs require a lot of computer training, but certainly can be complemented by experience in the field. If you are in a construction or production field and feel that you are capable of learning some basic architecture programs and computer design programs, you should think about getting the training needed and joining forces with an evolving field that will take you to new heights in your career.

If you thrive on innovation, growth and success, then a career at Dell might be just for you. Dell satisfies a wide variety of career desires by offering opportunities in IT, Customer Service, Business, Sales, and Engineering. IT positions stem from database management, analysis, software and engineering, and enable IT professionals to apply their expertise in software development, forensics, security analysis, database management, and engineering. Perhaps you are excited about improving people’s lives through technology, and if so, Dell can help you develop a rewarding sales career. Dell offers positions in retail, inside/outside sales, professional and managerial services and more. For the business professional, opportunities can be found as financial analysts, project managers, trainers, consultants, and global online professionals.

Dell provides a rich environment of continuous education, by providing on the job training, mentoring, networking, and company sponsored learning programs designed to help employees reach their career goals. While internal programs keep team managers and members in communication with each other regarding job expectations, Dell’s devotion to its managing staff is supported by the professional development courses designed to advance their managers into key leadership roles in the company.

Applying for a position at Dell is easy. The company has its own job search engine that is broken down by geography and job types. After identifying the desired position, an applicant creates a personal account and profile that remains in the Dell system, but that can be updated at any time. Applicants are then given a pre-screening questionnaire, which helps recruiters match skill sets to current and future positions. From there, an applicant may upload a resume and request notifications when positions of interest become available. Perhaps the most advantageous application method is attendance at one of Dell’s company events detailed on their website.

These events are perfect opportunities for hopefuls to shake hands with Dell representatives, ask questions about desired positions, and most importantly, put a face to a resume. The smart applicant will treat the event as their first interview, dress the part, and really sell themselves into their desired position.

While no one source can determine what a company will pay its future employees, it seems that software engineers’ salaries average from $54,000. to $97,000. depending upon experience level, and those engineers heading departments can easily make a six figure income. Sources, who have analyzed figures from similar companies, put a marketing managers’ salary at an average of $99,000. Even if your initial salary falls short of these estimates, new recruits should remember that the career enhancement training, mentoring and education offered by Dell, place them on a company sponsored career track for success. Before applying for a new career at Dell first see how much you can improve your pay by upgrading your skills with an Online IT Degree that you can earn from home.

by Mary Bush

As a senior in high school, the need to find a career for your future skyrockets. You will notice there are so many choices and end up choosing one you don’t like. Don’t worry. If you remember that you still have time to choose your future career you won’t feel pressured and end up jumping into a job you don’t like. If you are a teenager and still in high school or younger, you have time.

You may have had many ideas of what you wanted to be when you grow up when you were younger. Don’t completely throw them out the window. Minus the crazy ideas, some of them could be something you would still want to do. If you wanted to be a doctor, check it out. If you wanted to be a marine biologist, check it out. Just because you were little doesn’t mean it can’t happen. If you are still interested, give it a chance. Don’t let anyone else, including yourself, bash your dreams.

Look at what school subjects you excel at. If English is your strongest subject, you might want to check out careers in teaching, writing for magazines, writing novels or other creative writing, editing, journalism, or other careers that use English skills. For math or science, you might want to go into medicine, engineering, or business. If you like history, look into teaching, museum jobs, or anything related to your history era of choice. The subjects you are good at are often the subjects you enjoy. If you enjoy them and do well, you have available a great combination that can give you a great career.

Language skills can mean a career in translating or international business. Don’t rule out any creative careers such as in any type of the arts, theater, fine arts, acting, singing, etc. They are hard industries, but if you feel you can do it, go for it. Still, be realistic. If you want to go into dance, you have to understand that a lot of people that do it have taken dance classes for years and lessons for most of their lives. Know what you are equipped for. If you think you can work hard, maybe you could make it. Just realize what you are setting yourself up for. If you are someone who starts things and quits or never finishes, try not to pick something so ambitious that you think there is a possibility it might not be for you.

When you’ve come up with a list of careers you are interested in, find out more about them. Find out the pay, hours, stress level, and any other important aspects of the job. If you know someone in that career, ask them if they like it and what kind of person would be good for the job. Learning from someone who does the job is the best kind of research. Now if you decide you’ve thought up your dream job, go for it! Also, remember that if you don’t like it, it’s never too late to change. You are going to be doing this for the rest of your life and you are going to want to like it.

by Ada Denis

As you enter the job market, (for the first time or after a while) you might find that there are a lot of buzzwords thrown around, including the terms career and job. You might be looking for a career, but you aren’t going to enter the career market! Decide if you are looking for a job or a career today, and how to get the position you want.

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, a job is a piece of work that you do because of your occupation. A job also describes paid employment. A career, according to the OED, is a person’s course or progress through life.- This article defines job as the place where you are employed, and career as the field in which you work.

Even though you might have lost your job, you may still have a career. For instance, if you are an x-ray technician who has been laid off, chances are that you will be able to find new work in the field. Your job might change slightly: you might become a dental x-ray technician, or a veterinary x-ray technician rather than a hospital x-ray technician, but you will still remain an x-ray technician.

You can choose to change either your job or your career. For instance, you might still want to have your career as a computer technician, but you want to advance to a higher paying and more prestigious job. This would mean finding a new a job and quitting your current job. Conversely, you might feel that you want to change your career. Perhaps you no longer feel that you want to be a computer technician and instead you would like to become a journalist. Career-changes are more time-consuming that job-changes because they often require training. You will find yourself looking for experience in a field with which you don’t have experience. Neither career-changes nor job-changes are impossible, and often they bring much happiness.

When you are looking for a new job, it is important to consider what this means for your career. Some people choose not to have a career. Rather than having an over-arching goal in life, or in the field in which they wish to specialize, they would rather simply move from job to job. They might wait tables for a few years, then work as a receptionist, then work in retail.

You can, however, choose to have a career. In order to have a career, you need to have a plan. What are your interests? What would you like to be paid? Once you have planned your goals, you might have to take certain steps to achieve them. It is all well and good to watch a few episodes of Law & Order and then decide that you want to be a high-paid lawyer, but the reality of the matter is that you will have to go to law school for years, which is an expensive and time-consuming proposition. Also, you might find that a real-life courtroom isn’t as stimulating as a courtroom drama series. So if you have set a career goal, speak to people in that career. Volunteer or intern in that environment so that you know what to expect in your future life.

You can also create a career out of a job. Perhaps you work as an assistant in an office. If you want to become a sales representative, you might need to take some courses. You might need to put in a few years behind the front desk. Ask your supervisor what opportunities you have for advancement, and how you can achieve it. Another way to create a career out of a job is to work in retail and accept promotions that you get to management. Management is often more work and more hours, but the higher pay and possibility for promotion might appeal to you.

Some people choose to work a job while they are trying to create a career. Many students work summer jobs that are not related to their field. They might want the break from the same material, or they might not be able to find a job in their field until they have completed their degree. If you take a job, consider how it affects your career. Are you biding your time there until you can break into a separate market? If so, when and how will you make your move to your career? Many people work at a job while they search for a career; if you don’t keep your ultimate goals in your mind, you might end up staying at the job you don’t particularly care for for much longer than you had originally planned.

There are careers that are often begun later in life. Many careers in ministry are begun after retiring from a first career. A career in politics can similarly begin after having a career in a different field.

Career planning, like all planning, takes both short- and long-term thinking. Make your goals accordingly. Write down your goals so that you can refer back to them and see how you are progressing.

While you are looking for a job, always think about your career. You will be able to find your ideal job if you work diligently and are not afraid of a few rejections. So go find that perfect job, or simply find a job while you work on building the career of your dreams.
